Joseph Justus Scaliger

Joseph Justus Scaliger (1540-1609) was a French Dutch scholar of Italian descent, known for expanding the notion of classical history to include Persian, Babylonian, Jewish and ancient Egyptian history. He also published in 1606 the first edition of the Greek Enoch fragments of Syncellus.
