Valerius (1821) is a novel by John Gibson Lockhart.
Abstract
“A Roman Story” descriptive of social life and religious persecution in Rome under Trajan, at the beginning of the second century. The hero (son of a Roman father and a British mother) relates his experiences when journeying to, and staying in, Rome.
