Kaufmann Kohler (1843-1926) was a German-born American Jewish scholar.

Biography

Born in Bavaria into a family of rabbis, Kohler received his PhD in 1868 from the University of Erlangen. In 1869 he noved to the United States where he served as rabbi in Reform congregations in Detroit, Chicago, and Now York City. in 1903, he became president of Hebrew Union College, Cincinnati, OH.
