William Mitchell Ramsay (1851-1939) was a Scottish scholar.
Biography
Archaeologist and NT scholar. Born in Glasgow, Scotland. Studied at the Universities of Aberdeen and Oxford. First Professor of Classical Archaeology at Oxford University. In 1886 was appointed Regius Professor of Humanity at the University of Aberdeen.
Works on Second Temple Judaism
Ramsay was a pioneer in the study of Asia Minor sites related to Paul.
