Herbert Danby (1889-1953) was a British scholar.
Biography
Anglican priest, theologian, Hebraist. Canon at St. George’s Cathedral, Jerusalem, from 1923 to 1936. Professor of Hebrew at Oxford from 1936. As a translator, promoted the knowledge of the work of Hebrew writers and scholars (notably, Klausner). His work significantly contributed to the decline of anti-semitism in intellectual circles.
