Wolfgang Musculus (1497-1563) was a German Swiss NT scholar, and professor of Theology in Bern. Born on September 10, 1497 at Duss, near Strassburg, Musculus entered the Benedictine order at fifteen. After joing the Reformation in 1527, studied Hebrew and theology while serving as deacon of the Cathedral of Our Lady of Strasbourg. In 1549 became professor of Theology in Bern, Switzerland. His best known theological work is the Loci communes sacrae theologiae (1554). Also authored biblical commentaries. Died in Bern.
