Thomas Linley the Younger (1756–1778) was an English composer. A coetaneous of Mozart, shared the same fame as a child prodigy. The two adolescents met and befriended in Italy in 1770. Like Mozart, Linley was greeted as one the most promising geniuses of his age and produced many pieces of music, but was drowned in a boating accident at the age of 22.
