The Witness [aka Malchus] (2000) is a novel by William G. Griffiths.

Abstract

Tells of a little-known figure in one of the most famous of all biblical stories, the arrest of Jesus at Gethsemane. After accompanying the Roman soldiers on their quest to arrest the "blasphemer" and suffering a blow by a sword to the side of his head, Malchus' life changes forever.
