The Septuagint Version of the Old Testament (1844) is a book by Lancelot Brenton.
Abstract
"According to the the Vatican text, translated into English: with the principal various readings of the Alexandrine copy, and a table of comparative chronology."
Brenton's was the second translation of the Septuagint in English after The Holy Bible (1808 Thompson), book, and like Thompson's was limited to the canonical texts of the Hebrew Bible. Brenton's translation became the standard English edition of the Septuagint when since 1851 it was expanded to include the OT Apocrypha in a bilingual, Greek-English format; see The Septuagint with Apocrypha: Greek and English (1851 Brenton), book.
