The Passover Plot: New Light on the History of Jesus (1965) is an arch-fi book by Hugh J. Schonfield.

Abstract

Jesus secretly and meticulously planned and engineered his own death and resurrection. A drug would cause his apparent death so that his follower Joseph of Arimathea would take him from the cross when still alive. The plan failed when a Roman soldier wounded Jesus with a spear, causing his death.
