The Bronze Bow (1961) is a juvenile novel by Elizabeth George Speare.
Abstract
After his parents are killed by the Romans, Daniel loses all ability for compassion and forgiveness until he gains a new understanding through the teachings of Jesus. Inspirational Christian narrative, not immune from anti-Jewish stereotypes, was highly popular and won the Newbery Medal for excellence in American children's literature in 1962.
When the Romans brutally kill Daniel bar Jamin's father, the young Palestinian searches for a leader to drive them out, but comes to realize that love may be a more powerful weapon than hate.
Editions
