The Book of Mormon (1830) is a vision by Joseph Smith.

Abstract

"An Account Written by the Hand of Mormon upon Plates Taken from the Plates of Nephi."

The Book of Mormon is the founding document and sacred writing of Mormonism.

It includes some "historical" references to ancient inhabitants of America, whose origins are traced back to the lost tribes of Israel after the Babylonian exile. It also describes the visit of Jesus to the Americas shortly after his resurrection and ascension.
