The Book of Jubilees; or, The Little Genesis (1917) is a book by Robert Henry Charles and George H. Box.

Abstract

English translation from the Ethiopic by Robert Henry Charles and Introduction by George H. Box.

Contrary to Charles, Box argued that the author of Jubilees could not be a Pharisee since he advocated a solar calendar and did not mention the resurrection. Box also criticized the characterization of Jubilees as rewritten Bible as the author of Jubilees viewed his book as a revelation and not a midrashic exposition.

In line with Leszynsky (1912), Box maintained that the author of Jubilees was a pious priest, probably a Sadducee.
