Stanislav Segert (1921-2005) was a Czech scholar. Born in Prague, Czech Republic (then Czechoslovakia), Segert was a prominent scholar and professor of Semitic languages in Prague. In 1969, following the repression after the Soviet invasion, he moved to the United States where he taught at the University of California Los Angeles.
