Biography

Simon Kalderon was born September 15, 1935 in Travnik, Bosnia (Yugoslavia), to Avram and Berta Kalderon. In March 1943, father, mother, Simon and sister Flora were imprisoned as refugees at KZ Kavaja, Albania, under Italian rule, where they lived relatively safe. After the German occupation in Sept 1943, the Kalderons remained in hiding in Albania, until the end of the war. In July 1944 they sailed from Naples, Italy to Fort Ontario (Oswego), United States.
