Shlomo Binke / Sam Binke (M / Poland, 1928-1998), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Jacob Bayer was born Nov 29, 1928[1] in Lodz, Poland, to Chiel Mayer and Esther. With his family he was forced to live in the Lodz Ghetto. He was then deported in September 1944 to Auschwitz and in January 1945 to Buchenwald. [He eventually ended up in Theresienstadt, where he was liberated in May 1945.]

In August 1945 he joined the Windermere Children on their way to England. He emigrated to the United States. Died July 10, 1998.
