Santi Marmochino (1470c-1548) was an Italian scholar. Born at San Casciano, near Florence, Italy, Marmochino entered the Dominican Order at Fiesole in 1490. Was instructed by Girolamo Savonarola. Studied both Greek and Hebrew. After a series of monastic functions, in several Domenican houses in Pistoia, Florence and Lucca, in the 1530s settled in Venice, where he published his Italian translation of the Bible. He died in San Casciano in 1548.
