Samuel Belkin (1911-1976) was a Jewish-American scholar. Specialist in Jewish law and Hellenistic literature. Born in Poland, moved to the United States in 1929, where he received his PhD at Brown University in 1935. He then joined the Faculty of Yeshiva College, of which he became President in 1943. Under his guidance the Institution expanded to become Yeshiva University in 1945.
