Poggio Bracciolini (1380-1459) was an Italian scholar.

Poggiolini was responsible for recovering a great number of classical Latin manuscripts, including work by Quintilian, Vitruvius, Lucretius and Tertullian. He took the conservative side against Lorenzo Valla's claim that biblical texts should be subjected to the same philological criticism as the great classics of antiquity.
