{en} Nazarenus; or, Jewish, Gentile, and Mahometan Christianity (1718) is a book by John Toland.

Abstract

"Containing the history of the antient Gospel of Barnabas, and the modern Gospel of the Mahometans, attributed to the same apostle, this last Gospel being now first made known among Christians ... with the relation of an Irish manuscript of the four Gospels, as likewise a summary of the antient Irish Christianity, and the reality of the Keldees (an order of lay-religious) against the two last bishops of Worcester."

"Toland ... affirmed a distinction between Jewish Christians and gentile Christians and the identity of the first Christians (Jewish Christians) with the Nazarene and Hebrew heretics ... supposing that the two types of Christianity existed peaceably side by side, and that the difference between the teaching of Jesus and that of Paul lay only in the fact that they addressed to two distinct classes of believers, while fundamentally they were identical" (Salvatorelli, 1929)
