Montague Rhodes James (1862-1936) was a British scholar. Educated at King’s College, Cambridge, he was a Medieval scholar, and successful author of ghost stories, and the Provost of King’s College, Cambridge (1905-1918) and of Eton College (1918-1936). Being captivated by the mysterious, developed a special interest in Old and New Testament Apocrypha.
