Miriam Chaikin (1924-2015) was an American Jewish novelist. Born in Jerusalem and brought by her parents to the United States a year later. She remained a staunch supporter of her country of birth throughout her life, and held both U.S. and Israeli passports. Award-winning author of children's books, focused on Jewish history and culture in her writing for children. In addition to her writing for children, she was a prolific poet. She was buried in Israel.
