Samuel "Milo" Adoner was born May 5, 1925 in Paris, France. He was deported with his parents and 5 siblings (two older, Salomon and Rebecca, and three younger: Henry (1929-1942), Lisette (1931-1942), and Zizi (1937-1942). He and Rebecca were the only to survive.
Milo escaped from Buchenwald a few days before the liberation of the camp.
He became one of the most vocal testimony of the Shoah in France.

Samuel (Milo) Adoner was 17 years old when he was deported, but there are no pictures of him at that age. He was arrested on the night of September 22-23, 1942, along with dozens of other Jews who lived at 10-12 rue des Deux-Ponts on Ile Saint-Louis in Paris. Among them were seven members of his family, including his two brothers, Henry (born January 12, 1929) and Zizi (July 7, 1937), and his sister Lisette (November 10, 1931), all deported on convoy 38 of September 28, 1942. Milo was the only one who survived. He became one of the most active militants devoted to the memory of the fate of Jews in France during the Shoah.
