Miloš Bič (1910-2004) was a Czech scholar. Born November 19, 1910 in Vienna [Austria], he studied Protestant theology at the Universities of Prague, Marburg, and Montpellier. In the years 1940-45 he was imprisoned in the concentration camps of Buchenwald and Dachau for participating in anti-Nazi resistance. Immediately after World War II he worked at the Charles University, being appointed associate professor in 1946 and professor in 1948. In 1977, for political reasons, he was forced to retire, remaining active in research. In 1997, after the fall of the communist regime, he was honored by the new government. Bič died April 28, 2004 in Prague [Czech Republic].
