Alice (b. Feb 18, 1928), Simon (b. Dec 25, 1929), and Michel (b. Apr 4, 1937) were the children of Polish Jewish immigrants.

On July 16, 1942 the parents were arrested and sent to Auschwitz, where they perished.

The children survived living in several hiding places in the countryside, until liberation.

After the war, an uncle became their guardian and arranged for the three siblings to emigrate in the United States.
