Overview

Michael is mentioned in 1 Enoch as one of the archangels performing God's vengeance against the Fallen Angels.

In the Book of Daniel, Michael is referred to as "the great prince who protects your people."

In the Letter of Jude (1:9), "Michael the archangel, contending with the devil, disputed about the body of Moses." The Revelation of John (12:7-9) gives Michael the prominent role in the cosmic war against the devil and his angels.

In Islam, Michael is mentioned once in the Qur'an in association with Gabriel.
