Margaret Fell

Margaret Fell (1614-1702) was a British religious leader and one of the founders of Quakerism. Born Margaret Askew in 1614 at Marsh Grange, near Dalton, England. Converted to Quakerism and began holding Quaker meetings in her home (1652). Preached throughout England and wrote several Quaker monographs. Founded Swarthmoor Women's Monthly Meeting (1671).
