Biography

Lilith "Lidka" Stern was born in Lwow, Poland in 1930. With the liquidation of the Lwow Ghetto on August 1942, her entire family was murdered. She survived in hiding in the Aryan syde.

"The author stayed in Lviv from 1939. Pogrom of Jews on Petliura's birthday (6,000 victims). Mass arrests in March 1942. Transports to Bełżec (August 15, 1942, 60,000 people). The author was in the Lwow Ghetto for action on September 7, 1942, she fled to the city, she was hidden by a German woman. Help of Archbishop A. Szeptycki (shelter in a Ukrainian monastery)."
