Leone Caetani (1869-1935) was an Italian scholar. Born in Rome, Italy, Caetani studied Oriental Languages at the University of Rome and devoted his entire life to the study of Islamic origins, traveling extensively in the Middle East. A Socialist politician, he served in the Italian Parliament, 1909-1913, and was forced to leave Italy with the rise of Fascism. He died soon afterwards in Vancouver, Canada.
