La Bible / The Bible (1535) is a book by Olivétan.

Abstract

"La Bible Qui est toute la Saincte escripture: En laquelle sont contenus, le Vieil Testament & le Nouueau, translatez en Francoys. Le Vieil, de lebrieu: & le Nouueau, du Grec. Aussi deux amples tables, lune pour linterpretation des propres nome: lautre en forme Dindice, pour trouuer plusieurs sentences et matieres. Dieu en tout. Isaiah I. Escoutez cieulx, et toy terre preste laureille: car Leternel parle ..."

It was the second complete edition of the Bible in French. For the first time this Protestant translation of the entire Bible (including the OT Apocrypha) was not based on the Vulgate, but on the original Hebrew/Aramaic and Greek texts.

The Latin preface and the introduction to the N.T. are by Jean Calvin; the "Table de tous les motz" by H. Rosa and Eutychus Deper (i.e. Bonaventure Despériers); "Indice des principales matieres" (with preface) by Matthieu Gramelin (i.e. Matthieu Malingre).
