Biography

Jytte Bornstein was born in 1936 in Denmark. Her family was arrested by the Gestapo during World War II and subsequently sent to the concentration camp Theresienstadt in present-day Czech Republic. Jytte spent a year and a half in the concentration camp, surviving the Holocaust. She was repatriated by the Red Cross on April 15, 1945, shortly before the liberation of the camp.
