John Cameron (1724-1799) was a Scottish novelist. John Cameron was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. An ordained Scottish Presbyterian minister, around 1750 he went as a missionary in Northern Ireland. He spent there the rest of his life, as a respected preacher and minister. He died on December 31, 1799 in Dunluce.
