Jesus Christ Superstar (2002-05) is the American touring Broadway stage production of Jesus Christ Superstar (1970 Webber / Rice), opera, directed by Kevin Moriarty, with Craig Barna (musical director).
Abstract
The 2002 American national tour starred Sebastian Bach as Jesus and Carl Anderson once again as Judas Isacariot. Bach received mixed reviews and in April 2003 was replaced by Eric Kunze. Anderson was again praised, but in 2003 left the show after being diagnosed with leukaemia and died in 2004. The tour closed shortly after Anderson's departure.
