Jean Gagnier (1670c-1740), scholar

Jean (John) Gagnier (1670c-1740) was a French scholar, active mostly in England, where he taught Hebrew and Arabic at the University of Oxford. He authored a Latin translation of Josippon (1706) and a Life of Muhammad (1732).
