Jan Dobraczynski (1910-1994) was a Polish novelist. Jan Dobraczynski was born April 20, 1910 in Warsaw, Poland. A Catholic activist, Dobraczynski helped locate Jewish children in convents during the Holocaust. He fought in the Warsaw Uprising in 1944 and was imprisoned in the concentration camp of Bergen-Belsen. After the War, he supported the pro-communist Catholic Association, PAX. In 1993 he was awarded the title of Righteous among the Nations by the Israeli government. Dobraczynski died March 5, 1994 in Warsaw, Poland.
