Jacques Goar (1601-1653) was a French scholar and Dominican monk. Devoted his life to the study of the Greek language and spent many years in Greece for research. Back to France, published the numerous ancient Greek manuscripts he had collected, including in 1652 the editio princeps (and first Latin translation) of the Chronica by George Syncellus containing the Enoch Greek fragments.
