The International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies (IOSCS) is an international association devoted to the study of Septuagint and related literature.

History

The International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies was founded on December 19, 1968, in Berkeley, CA at a session in conjunction with the annual meeting of the SBL. Harry M. Orlinski was the first president. Since 1971 the Organization has held international meetings in conjunction with the IOSOT Congresses.

Since 1968, IOSCS has been publishing the journal Bulletin of the International Organization for Septuagint and Cognate Studies (BIOSCS), which is now about to be renamed Journal of Septuagint and Cognate Studies.
