Hugo Weisgall (1912-1997) was an Moravian-born American Jewish composer. Born in Moravia, moved to the United States at the age of eight. Studied music and earned a PhD in German literature at Johns Hopkins University. After serving in WW2, taught at Queens College, the Juilliard School, and the Jewish Theological Seminary.
