Hið Nya Testament <Icelandic> / New Testament (1540) is a book by Oddur Gottskálksson.

Abstract

First translation of the New Testament, and any part of the Bible, into Icelandic. Oddur Gottskálksson was one of the leaders of the Reformation in Iceland and based his work on Luther's German translation and on the Latin text. It was the first book ever printed in Icelandic and had a significant impact on the literary development of the language.
