Herman Berlinski (1910-2001) was a German-born Jewish American composer. Born in Leipzig, Germany. Moved to America in 1933 when the Nazis came to power. One of the most important 20th century composers of music with Jewish themes, the first person at the Jewish Theological Seminary in America to earn the degree of Doctor of Sacred Music in 1960.
