Giovanni Diodati (1576-1649) was an Italian Swiss scholar, professor of Hebrew and Theology at the University of Geneva. Diodati was the first to translate the Bible into Italian from Hebrew and Greek sources. His translation became the standard version used for centuries by Italian Protestants.
