Gaspar de Aguilar (1561-1623) was a Spanish playwright.

Gaspar de Aguilar was born in Valencia, Spain in 1561. Born into humble social conditions, he became secretary of the Count of Sinarcas, and steward to the Dukes of Gandia. His poetry adapted itself to the needs and circumstances of his patrons: for religious festivals, celebrations and official events. He was one of the founders and major contributors of the Acadèmia dels Nocturns (the Academy of Night), for which he adopted the pen name of Sombra (Shade). He died in Valencia, Spain on July 26, 1623.
