Francesco Gabrieli (1904-1996) was an Italian scholar, born April 27, 1904 in Rome [Italy]. After graduating in Arabic Literature at the University of Roma, from 1928 to 1935 he worked as an editor for Enciclopedia Italiana. From 1935 to 1938 he taught at the Naples Eastern University and from 1938 to his retirement in 1979 as professor of Arabic language and literature at the University of Rome. Gabrieli died in Rome on December 13, 1996.
