Fausto Cleva (1902-1971), conductor

Born in Trieste (Italy), Fausto Cleva began his operatic career as a conductor before moving to The United States in 1920 where he joined the conducting staff of the Metropolitan Opera in New York City. He was also the musical director of the Cincinnati Summer Opera, from 1934 until 1963. Died in Athens during a performance.
