{fr} La Pêche aux poissons rouges, directed by Louis Lumière

A man (Auguste Lumiere) holds his baby daughter (Andrée Lumiere) on a table next to a bowl containing goldfish. The baby begins putting her hand into the water while the man supports her.

One of the films shown at the Lumière brothers' first commercial public presentation. Auguste Lumière holds his infant daughter Andrée beside a bowl of goldfish; the child reaches toward the water and the fish. Like Repas de bébé, the film makes an identifiable infant the principal subject of the moving image and is among the earliest important surviving films centered on a child.
