The film, photographed by Louis Lumière, shows his brother Auguste Lumière and Auguste's wife Marguerite feeding their infant daughter, Andrée Lumière.
One of the ten films presented at the Lumière brothers' historic paid public screening at the Salon Indien of the Grand Café in Paris. Filmed earlier in 1895 at the Lumière family home in Lyon, the film shows Auguste and Marguerite Lumière feeding their infant daughter Andrée at an outdoor table. Andrée, who was born in 1894, is the central visual subject of the scene and became one of the earliest identifiable children to appear repeatedly in motion pictures.
