Sandra Biondo (1892-1989), opera singer (soprano)

Born in San Mauro Castelverde (Sicily, Italy), Biondo moved to the United Stated in 1907 with her family. She began her professional career in 1927, when she went on tour with the San Carlo Opera Company and the American Opera Company. Biondo sang for the Met from November 23, 1929, to March 26, 1932, in 31 different performances. She continued to perform until 1938. Died in Stamford, CT.
