Alberto Ascoli (1877-1957) -- Jewish Italian-American (medicine)

Born in Trieste, Abramo Alberto Ascoli was a Jewish Italian-American serologist, hygienist and physiological chemist, who developed a test for anthrax.

After the promulgation of the Racial Laws in 1938, he moved to the United States, where he taught in several universities before returning in Italy in 1947, to work at the University of Milan.
