Arturo Alessandri (Longavi, Chile, 1868 - Santiago, Chile, 1950) - Politician, President of Chile (1920-1924, 1925, 1932-1938).

Born in Chile, Arturo Alessandri was the grandson of Giuseppe Pietro Alessandri Tarzo, an Italian patriot involved in the riots of the 1820s, who decided to leave Tuscany and worked as Consul of the Kingdom of Sardinia in Santiago, Chile. After studying at the University of Chile, Arturo Alessandri began his political career in 1897, becoming one of the leading Chilean political figure. He served thrice as president of Chile (1920-1924, 1925, 1932-1938). His son, Jorge Alessandri, was also president of Chile (1958-1964).
