Fanny Hollander (F / Belgium, 1933), Holocaust survivor

Biography

Fanny Fogel Hollander was born on June 6, 1933 in Antwerp, Belgium, to Jewish Romanian parents. When German invaded Belgium, they fled Antwerp for France, arriving in Paris and being interned at the Brens and Rivesaltes camps. She escaped from Rivesaltes and lived in Paris with her mother. Then she lived in Lille with a non-Jewish family for much of the war. She was there on D-Day, which was also her 11th birthday. She reunited with her father when he was liberated from Auschwitz.
